Today President Donald Trump signed an executive order in response to the tragic accident that occurred Wednesday evening where a passenger jet crashed into a military Black Hawk helicopter.
In the executive order President Trump admonishes the Obama and Biden administration saying that they "minimized merit and competence in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)" as a direct result of DEI hiring. The order goes on to say that they specifically recruited "individuals with severe intellectual disabilities in the FAA".
All of this comes in the wake of President Trump firing the previous acting director of the FAA Mike Whitaker. This also occurs during a federal hiring freeze and federal buyout program which incentivizes federal employees to quit in his attempt to downsize the federal government.
President Trump denies that these actions have any bearing on the tragedy that occurred Wednesday night and has instructed the Secretary of Transportation and Administrator of the FAA to review all hiring decisions and safety protocols made in the last 4 years.
