This executive order ensures that the laws that authorize capital punishment are implemented and aims to counteract politicians and judges who subvert the law by obstructing or preventing the execution of capital sentences. The attorney general will also pursue the death penalty regardless of all other factors if the crime involved the murder of a law-enforcement officer or a capital crime committed by an illegal immigrant.
The Attorney General will also seek to preserve capital punishment in the states, modify the justice manual based on this policy, and seek to overturn previous Supreme Court rulings that limit the state and federal governments ability to impose capital punishment
